We were thrilled to be featured in several news articles during National HIV Testing Week, after creating a special survey to help understand attitudes towards HIV and sexual health. The survey revealed an alarming lack of awareness around sexually transmitted infections and HIV around the UK.
- Pink News reported that, “While HIV diagnoses are falling in the UK, the survey indicates that there is still significant cause for concern, as many people do not understand what HIV is, nor do they understand the importance of getting tested.”
- News Shopper London said, “Over half of Londoners who responded in the survey have had unprotected sex, while nearly 60 per cent have never had a HIV test and over half haven’t had an STI test at all.”
- A journalist for Cornwall Live took an HIV test to help raise awareness about HIV stigma.
National HIV Testing Week is held every November in the UK. It aims to reduce the numbers of undiagnosed people and those diagnosed late. It also promotes regular testing among key populations.
